NOW Foods Potassium Iodide Tablets
The NOW Foods Potassium Iodide is a salt of stable iodine absorbed by the thyroid gland, this saturates the thyroid gland with stable iodine in the event of a radiation release in the atmoshphere, from a nuclear blast for example.
Potassium iodide is a specific blocker of thyroid radio-iodine uptake, only use when instructed to do so.
Not to be confused with regular Iodine supplements, this is only for use as an emergency radiation treatment in the event of a nuclear disaster.
Administration should take place within 3 hours of a nuclear accident, or up to 10 hours after an accident, however, this is less effective.
A single daily dose should be administered. This will protect against exposure lasting up to 24 hours.
